Spain in Transformation

Digital transformation in a country with great cultural diversity
KELLER Pressure has been present in Spain through a local representative since 2003. However, on 17 April 2024, KELLER opened its own subsidiary in Madrid whose aim it to offer direct KELLER factory support and technical assistance at the highest level in the country.
Digital transformation in Spain
The decision to open a branch in Spain this year came at exactly the right time. According to the «Think Digital Report 2022: Barometer on Digital Transformation in Spain and Latin America» by Inesdi Business Techschool, Spain is becoming the country with the highest number of companies that have started their digital transformation. 85% are already in the process of transformation and this figure is expected to rise further.
Spanish companies are increasingly using technologies to analyse data and make strategic decisions. Combined with increased investment in software for the automation of robotic processes, the demand for professionals with digital skills is growing steadily. The aim is to promote a digital culture that prioritises agility and innovation.
Iván Mora
Application Specialist Spain«I am impressed by the cultural diversity and how Spain is embarking on a new level of digital transformation.»
Experience with pressure measurement technology
Ivan Mora is our new application specialist in Spain. With his personal interest in digital transformation and his many years of experience, he is the right local transformer. Let us now accompany him on his journey to KELLER and to Spain:
With 24 years of experience as a civil engineer specialising in hydraulics, I have sold products in Central America and developed projects with innovative technological solutions for hydraulic systems, wastewater systems, non-revenue water programs, agriculture and industry. I have been familiar with KELLER products since 2018, when I was still working as a representative. Thanks to my experience, I was able to offer monitoring and control solutions both as local and remote data transmissions. For sensor and hydraulic applications involving measurements of pressure, flow, level and physico-chemical parameters, I was able to advise my customers.
As founder of a company and business developer, I have applied market penetration strategies for innovative products and measurement technologies in the hydraulics sector. I started in Costa Rica and over time expanded my business to the rest of Central America. This allowed me to position my representation, together with the KELLER product portfolio, as a leader in the region.
A new challenge
Opening a new branch for KELLER in Spain and developing the brand's presence in a wide range of industrial sectors marks a new stage in my life and fills me with enthusiasm. This challenge has also offered me opportunities for personal growth and a better quality of life. It was a great pleasure to be involved in the establishment of the subsidiary. I took care of all the initial aspects, from the legal process and finding a location to buying the furniture and setting up the office.
The KELLER Pressure Spain S.L. office is located in Las Rozas, in the north-western part of Madrid, about 30 minutes by car from the city centre. The office has an area of 30 m² and is located in an area with numerous hotels, restaurants and good connections to the train and bus stations. The Las Rozas municipality is considered Spain's centre for entrepreneurship and innovation. According to the Intelligent Community Forum, Las Rozas is one of the 21 smartest cities in the world. The 2020-2030 strategic plan «Las Rozas Innova» has positioned Las Rozas on the map of the most advanced cities, as the city combines technological development, the promotion of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the attraction of specialists.
Spain - a place to linger
A few years ago, I was already toying with the idea of retiring. But fate has now led me to this career change, which fills me with joie de vivre. I have always dreamed of living in Spain with my family. I was particularly attracted by the friendly people, the cuisine, the wine and the rich cultural diversity, which ranges from the Andalusian to the Catalan, Basque, Valencian and Madrilenian languages and is complemented by the Hispanic-American influence.
Spain also offers a wide variety of landscapes, climates and geographical features. The beautiful beaches surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian Sea are perfect for a successful summer holiday.
I moved with my family and our two Chihuahua dogs, which was a big change for everyone. Especially because we are now experiencing four seasons instead of the two we were used to in Costa Rica - dry and rainy.
The city of Madrid, known as the region of the sun, lives up to its reputation. So far, I have found it hard to get used to the many hours of sunshine. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed as part of the Hispanic cultural world. The familiarisation was relatively easy due to the cultural similarities, despite some language differences. But even these will disappear with time.
