myCalibration – The Direct Route to KELLER Calibration Data

In most cases, a pressure transmitter with compensation electronics is the best choice for customers, because this allows them to benefit from KELLER's many years of expertise. Standardised interfaces can be integrated into the customers own system with no need to worry about signal compensation or programming effort.

In our blog about the Mathematical Compensation Model, the importance of various calibration data and the compensation model has already been highlighted. Compensation electronics have a limited sampling rate, resolution, accuracy, or a combination of these performance characteristics. Customers are free to choose from the calibration options below:
-    Complete pressure transmitter
-    Pressure transducer with calibration and Mathematical Compensation Model
-    Pressure transducer with clear calibration data

The calibration data is not only used for the digital compensation: It is akin to a seal of quality that proves the maximum achievable accuracy and performance – at all possible expansion stages. 

Historically, when customers opted for a pressure transducer with calibration data/models only, the data was transmitted manually and order-related by e-mail or via FTP server. Subsequently, the customers had to read the data back into their own system.

KELLERs new data platform myCalibration provides customers with their calibration data and models at any time, automated and in standardized digital form.

myCalibration platform: API and Web-App
With regards to digitalisation and automation, data important for the product should always be available to customers. The new myCalibration simplifies data transmission while increasing security. The traceability of the sensors and their quality is guaranteed. 

The core of this purely digital service is a REST-API (data interface for programs), to query the specific calibration data and thus receive it via HTTPS in various desired formats (JSON or bundled as ZIP). Security is guaranteed by best practices, audits as well as the authentication technology «Azure Active Directory B2C». The customer data is only accessible following an individual login and cannot be viewed by other individuals. 

KELLER has created its own text-based data structure to store all variants of the calibration data. Users can use various search and filter functions and either download individually selected sensor data or perform mass downloads. The calibration data is available in JSON file format. This format, thanks to widespread use and large availability of programming libraries, enables quick and easy integration into customer systems. JSON data can also be read in any text editor for quick and easy verification. The scheme of this format is openly available (open source) and extensively documented. 
 

A clear user interface which uses this API exemplarily is the web application myCalibration.
